Level 2 Security Guard

3 days – £125.00

Under the Private Security Industry Authority Act 2001, all individuals wishing to work in the private security industry must undertake a recognised qualification before applying for a licence.

The HABC Level 2 Award in Security Guarding (QCF) has been developed to meet the requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA). It is based on the relevant SIA Specifications for Learning and Qualifications and provides the learner with the necessary knowledge and understanding for those who wish to apply for an SIA licence and work as a security guard within the private security industry.

Subjects covered include the roles and responsibilities of security officers, patrolling, search procedures, security systems, communication, reporting and record keeping, legislation and its relevance to the role, avoiding conflict and reducing personal risk, reducing risk of conflict, effective communication and problem solving strategies.

The qualification comprises three mandatory units:

Unit 1 – Working in the Private Security Industry

Unit 2 – Working as a Security Officer

Unit 3 – Conflict Management for the Private Security Industry

Level 2 Door Supervisor

Under the Private Security Industry Authority Act 2001, all individuals wishing to work in the private security industry must undertake a recognised qualification before applying for a licence.

This accredited qualification has been developed to meet the requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA). It is based on the relevant SIA Specifications for Learning and Qualifications and provides the necessary skills and knowledge for learners who wish to apply for an SIA licence and work as a door supervisor within the private security industry.

The qualification comprises four mandatory units:

Unit 1 – Working in the Private Security Industry

Unit 2 – Working as a Door Supervisor

Unit 3 – Conflict Management for the Private Security Industry

Unit 4 – Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry (McCormack Physical Intervention – the leading industry method of techniques)

Subjects covered include current legislation relevant to the role, search procedures, powers of arrest, recording incidents and crime scene preservation, avoiding conflict and reducing personal risk, conflict management, reducing risk and communicating effectively.

Level 3 Close Protection Officer

14 days (including weekends) – £2000.00

The course is a combination of classroom work, practical application, external drills and operational exercises testing your individual and team skills in realistic scenarios. We deliver well above the minimum specification.  The course is delivered by individuals of the highest calibre who have worked in the industry domestically and internationally in executive and hostile environments.

Level 2 Physical Intervention

The new Level 2 Physical Intervention Skills element is for the National Qualification for Door Supervisors.

This course covers all of the learning objectives of the new requirements set by the SIA, and provides the essential information to aid delegates through their classroom learning. It is intended to be used in support of the required physical skills training provided by the instructors.

This course is divided into 3 Units:

Unit 1 – The legal and professional implications of using physical intervention
Unit 2 – Reducing the risk of harm when using physical intervention
Unit 3 – Good practice following physical intervention

Level 2 Conflict Management

This course aims to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to reduce the likelihood of abusive and threatening behaviour occurring within the workplace and has been written in line with the Level 2 Award in Conflict Management.
